Kodak Medalist II

Kodak Medalist II samples

These are shots taken with a Kodak Medalist II on 6x9 format 620 film. This film format is no longer available but I happened to have an old expired one. The photos turned out great, the Medalist is a fantastic camera and the lens is superb. The main issue I had was to get the negatives scanned in properly. I got some from the place where I had the film developed, but they were rather low res. However, my own technique of photographing the negatives on a light table resulted in a lot of vignetting, which I originally blamed on the negatives. It turned out that a glass plate to keep the film flat was a bad idea. With a 6x9 mask and a light shaft I finally got the results I wanted.
Only four photos initially, not all where exciting and also, you're only getting 8 shots on a film with this format! These were taken in Stockholm on a blisteringly hot day in May. But see further below for a second roll, a new one this time from a small scale Chinese producer who presumably respool 120 stock onto 620 spools.

Some new photos taken with the same camera after I finally managed to get some 620 film. This was a wee trip down memory back to the area where got married, including the church and the Menzies Castle. What a magnificent place!
